Energy Stewardship
Province 1 Environmental ministers gathering with UCC ministers
On Saturday, June 9th beginning at 12:30, you are invited to gather with our fellow United Church of Christ environmental ministers to share your stories nad projects and to network. The New England Regional Environmental Ministers (NEREM) of the UCC have been meeting regularly for about 1 ½ years to support each other’s work, to brainstorm larger regional initiatives and to network. Diocese of Massachusetts Suffragan Bishop Bud Cederholm was invited to join in the conversation and invited me to participate. Every meeting has proven to be energizing and supportive. The conversation is expanding to include all Episcopalians in New England who are doing environmental work.
At the upcoming June NEREM meeting, Mike Schut, who is based in Seattle and is the Episcopal Church officer on Environmental and Economic Justice will join us to share what is going on around TEC in the US and other nations. He will also be speaking about the recently released Genesis Covenant Resource Guide.
Additionally, the UCC national environmental advisor will be with us to give us a national overview. There will be ample time to share your work with others, to share ideas and develop new relationships. Please consider joining us that day as a way to invigorate and sustain your important ministry. Let me know if you are coming and let’s think about carpooling as much as possible. revstephaniejohnson@gmail.com
