What We Do
We coordinate our Ministries...
We believe that there are things we can do better together rather than separately.
We were the first Province to create Networks, gathering leaders from the dioceses around common ministry concerns. We also have informal groups focused on projects or special initiatives. Members come together for leadership development, formation opportunities, and sharing of resources.
Province One is proud that we were the first province to have a paid staff person to help our ministries grow collaboratively. The Executive Director and the officers in the Province support and facilitate the connections we have.
We meet as a Synod...
The Synod of the Province consists of the House of Deputies and the House of Bishops. Lay and clergy Deputies are elected, two from each diocese, and all New England bishops are members. These two Houses come together at least once each year to further the work of the Church and regulate all business of the Province. We invite new possibilities...
Our Province is called into a re-visioned place of empowering the ministry of all baptized, laity and clergy together. We are making a corporate effort to take the spark of our renewed vision and move deeply into the 21st century with all its extraordinary opportunities.Connections through, and on behalf of, our ministries
are critical to who we are as a Province
