SEED MONEY FOR GROWING
In 2012, the Executive Committee decided to shift from funding named networks to offering grants to Province I members for mission-oriented projects or programs. In addition to supporting established groups at the level they truly needed, the hope was to help launch initiative by emerging communities of practice with members in two or more dioceses. Forty-six grants ranging from $500 to $2,500 have been awarded since the grant program was established. Current grants are available up to $2500.
Proposals are accepted throughout the year until funds are exhausted and are reviewed during the monthly Executive Committee Meeting, usually the third Thursday of the month. We anticipate that most projects/programs will occur within the fiscal year, though multi-year efforts will be accepted with assumption that the grant could be renewed or extended into another fiscal year. Applications are reviewed for clarity of mission, comprehensiveness of plan, stewardship of resources, development of sustainable networks for future collaboration, and likelihood of success. To apply, download the application in Word (.docx). Then, email your completed file to the Province 1 Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
NOW ACCEPTING GRANT APPLICATIONS
The Executive Committee is now accepting grant applications from Province I members for mission-oriented projects or programs. Grants of $500-$2,500 are available for collaborative projects/programs that involve two or more Province I dioceses. Proposals are accepted throughout the year until funds are exhausted.
IN-PERSON MEETING GRANTS
In 2021, the Executive Committee of Province 1 made additional grants of up to $2,000 available for ministry networks to meet in-person after the Provincial Conference was moved online. Through 2023, ministry networks may apply for those funds through the Sowing Seeds application, alerting the Province 1 Coordinator in the body of the email containing their application that they intend to apply for In-Person Meeting Grant Funds in addition to Sowing Seeds of Mission funding.
